Exploration Activity: Aeromagnetic Survey At Waunita Hot Springs Geothermal Area (Lange, 1981)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Waunita Hot Springs Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Aeromagnetic Survey
Activity Date 1972

Usefulness useful regional reconnaissance
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
Survey was conducted as a general geophysical resource for the state

Notes
Coarse-scale (1:500,000) aeromagnetic survey indicated that hot springs reside in the minimum of a N-S magnetic depression, at the intersection of two linear magnetic trends. Due to the coarse scale of the conducted survey, it is hard to explicitly identify Tomichi Dome or other local features .
