Summary
The ENERGY STAR Program provides incentives to builders in the Texas Central Company Energy service territory for the new construction of ENERGY STAR certified homes. The homes must meet a minimum requirement of a HERS index of 85 or below, and be at least 15% more efficient than the 2006 IECC. Incentives are tied directly to the amount of energy savings. Depending upon the physical location of the home, homes will be paid based upon kW and kWh that is calculated for each home. Features such as high efficiency windows, HVAC equipment, tight duct work, lighting upgrades and advanced framing.
