The American Council on Renewable Energy, or ACORE, is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that aims to make renewable energy, in all forms, part of America's mainstream economy and lifestyle. The organization focuses on trade, policy and finance.
ACORE is made up of paying members from all sectors of the renewable energy industries and their trade associations, including wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and biofuels, hydropower tidal/current energy and waste energy. ACORE’s membership includes (but is not limited to) financial institutions, government leaders, educators, end-users, professional service providers and other nonprofit groups.
ACORE works towards the goal of bringing RE into the mainstream via several avenues:
- Publishing op-ed pieces
- Forming a speakers' bureau -- key members of ACORE's Leadership Council are available for keynotes, conferences, networking events, etc.
- Hosting quarterly luncheons in Washington
- Participating in executive-level dinners, for networking and a keynote address
