New Gapminder Visualizations Added!

OpenEI now features some cool new Gapminder Visualizations for users to browse and discover interesting trends. This dynamic chart, also called a motion chart, allows users to view changing data over time with four different axis, all changeable with a click of the mouse.

The data ranges from state data on energy consumption published by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) and international data on renewable and total energy production from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

To begin, go to OpenEI's apps page and select a visualization. Then click play to see how energy data has changed over time!
